Starting over….
I’ve come back from a nine month absence from NY and honestly it feels like i’m moving to NY all over again! Although there are certain things in place that were here when I left (like my AWESOME 23 month old daughter, a best friend who has proved to be just that, a great neighborhood), I have to find my place again in this crazy environment.
As many people that live here, it can feel like a very lonely place. Finding where I belong at the moment in this chaotic and ever changing dance world is a particularly difficult challenge. Knowing that you possess a great talent, but depending on other people to value that talent in able to be employed, is no easy task. Daily rejection puts a toll on anyone, no matter how talented they may be.
So my new task is to create an outlet for myself to explore a side of my dancing that I haven’t before. I also need to put myself out there and seek other opportunities that peak my interest….like acting, fashion, entertainment pr and event planning.
In a sense I am absolutely starting over…and I finally accept!
